Proclaiming the New Covenant
More than 6000 years ago, Yahweh created man in His own Image (Genesis 1VS26-27, Genesis 2VS7). HE made a covenant with the first human, Adam, that he (Adam) must not eat of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2 VS17).
Man did not uphold this covenant. He ate of the fruit and fell short of the Glory of God (Romans 3VS23). He was divorced from God. Man died. This was a spiritual death.
After the fall of man, Yahweh resolved to give him another chance. HE sent His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, Jesus Christ, to die for Mankind (John 3V16) for the remission of their sins. This was Yahweh’s attempt to reconcile man back to HIM.
This reconciliation is so profound that it transcends the state of man at creation. This position is fully articulated in the second part of John 10VS10 “… I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. This new life enabled by the SON of Yahweh is more abundant than what was at creation before the fall of man.
This action by Yahweh was the greatest expression of LOVE. With the birth, the death by crucifixion, and glorification (resurrection, ascension, and exaltation) of Jesus, a new covenant was established.
Our mission is located in this new covenant. It is to proclaim the gospel of the New Covenant, but also, to create genuine ambassadors and advocates of the New Covenant.
